Invented around 1874 at the Manhattan Club, NY. The first great drink to marry whisky with vermouth.
Ingredients
5cl Rye Whisky, 2cl Sweet Vermouth, 2 dashes Angostura, 1 cherry
Preparation
Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled glass.
